One month away is the finals of the prestigious World Test Championship. India and New Zealand will meet head-on in this mega final. Many professional cricketers are speculating on the composition of Indian team in this title fight. Recently, former India pacer, Ashish Nehra also shared his views on the best bowling combination. He recommended that the Indian team enter the pitch with three pacers and two spinners.
Nehra predicted that Bumrah, Ishant and Shammi would play in the pace department. He analysed that these three bowlers to be perfectly fit for the English pitch conditions. Jadeja and Ashwin are expected to be in the spin department. Additionally, these two will also strengthen the lower order batting. He also suggested taking Siraj into the team, if they wanted an extra seamer. Hyderabadi pacer Siraj has been consistent for some time now. Siraj’s impressive performance during the Australia tour got him selected for the World Test Championship final. Based on this, Nehra predicts the pace department will be strong if Siraj is absorbed.
Nehra alleged that the same bowlers gave the Indian team victories in Tests earlier. Nehra was also of the opinion that this was the best bowling combination in his estimation. New Zealand, on the other hand, has a good grip on bowling. Boult, along with Wagner and Kyle Jamison, are expected to be key players in the New Zealand team.
The former pacer added that Team India’s strengths hold an advantage over Kiwis. The New Zealand team has already reached England for the Championship finals. Kane's side will play two Tests against the host English side. On the other hand, India is also preparing for a tour of England. Kohli’s team will leave Mumbai on June 2. Let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best.
