The much-awaited three-match ODI series between India and Sri Lanka will take place after two days. The team, which is touring Sri Lanka, has Shikhar Dhawan as the Captain. Incidentally, National Cricket Academy (NCA) Director Rahul Dravid is appointed as the head coach. If the tour is successful, BCCI hopes to play two teams simultaneously in the future. The other senior team, which is under Virat Kohli’s leadership, is currently touring England.
As for the final squad for the first ODI against Sri Lanka on Sunday, Captain Shikhar Dhawan and Prithviraj Shah will be the star openers. As captain, Shikhar Dhawan is all geared to deliver his best. While Surya Kumar Yadav is likely to come at first down. Manish Pandey can bat at fourth position. Their batting order may also change depending on circumstances. But it seems certain that these two will be in the final squad. Sanju Samson - the wicketkeeper - strengthens the team. Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya will be the all-rounders. Although Krishnappa Gowtham is a strong contender instead of Krunal, the team management will vote for experience.
Vice-captain Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Navdeep Saini and Deepak Chahar look set to be the team's pacers. Yuzvendra will enter the pitch as a specialist spinner.
