Rohit to cross a new milestone in world cricket.

Rohit to cross a new milestone in world cricket. Rohit to cross a new milestone in world cricket.

He represents the legacy of Virender Sehwag. He inspires young players to play big innings. He almost has no equals when it comes to creating a tsunami of sixes. As a batsman, he leads from the front.  He encourages his teammates whenever the opportunity arises. He is none other than Rohit Sharma, ‘the hitman’. Frankly speaking, he has already achieved so many rare feats in his career. Now, he is about to achieve another rare feat on English soil.

Team India will play New Zealand in the final of the ICC World Test Championship in Southampton from June 18 to 22. This is the first ICC World Test Championship final in the world of cricket. Rohit Sharma is the only cricketer to have played in the final of the inaugural ICC T20 World Cup in 2007. To see only Rohit Sharma feature in the new squad apart from earlier team-mates is a feat extraordinaire.

Earlier in the 2007 T20 World Cup final, Team India squad included: Gautam Gambhir, Yusuf Pathan, Robin Uthappa, Yuvraj Singh, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Irfan Pathan, Joginder Sharma, Harbhajan Singh, S Sreesanth, RP Singh along with Rohit Sharma.

Rohit Sharma was a member of the team that won the 2007 T20 World Cup and was also a member of the Indian team that won the 2013 Champions Trophy. However, the ODI World Cup was still in short supply for Rohit Sharma. In 2011, Rohit did not get a place in the team. Rohit Sharma, who hit five centuries in the 2019 ODI World Cup, was added the team to the semis. But, unfortunately, India lost to New Zealand. However, this cricket star has risen beyond anybody’s doubts.
