Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah, the Mumbai Indians' megastars, have joined the Mumbai Indians camp ahead of the IPL 2022, which begins on March 26. The two have joined the MI camp only hours after India beat Sri Lanka by 238 runs in a pink ball Test match at Bengaluru's M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

For both of them, it was a memorable competition. While this was Rohit's first full-time Test assignment as India's full-time captain, Bumrah took his first red-ball fifer at home and matched the record of famous all-rounder Kapil Dev, who had eight five-wicket hauls in 29 Tests.

Both the MI captain and the pace spearhead are seen entering the team hotel in a video uploaded on social media by the Mumbai Indians. Bumrah was alone when he arrived at the hotel and walked straight to his room. Meanwhile, the Hitman and his family, including his better half Ritika Sajdeh and daughter Samaira, had arrived. The energetic opener can also be seen holding Samaira while admiring the team's five IPL victories, which are on display at the team hotel.

Former champions Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah, as well as Indian limited-overs batting star Suryakumar Yadav and Caribbean power-hitter Kieron Pollard, were retained months before the IPL 2022 major auction. Sharma was promised INR 16 crore, whereas the fastest man in the world was paid INR 12 crore.

A fresh-look Mumbai Indians will be hoping to make the most of their rebuilt team after making some new signings at the two-day blockbuster event in Bengaluru last month. They are aiming for a record sixth IPL title. The Rohit Sharma-led squad hoped to make history by becoming the first team to achieve a hat-trick of IPL titles after winning back-to-back titles in 2019 and 2020.

Despite this, they finished fifth in the points table after a disappointing performance in the second leg of the IPL 2021. The Mumbai Indians will be hoping for a turnaround in their fortunes this time. On March 27, the five-time champions will face the Delhi Capitals at the Brabourne Stadium to begin their IPL 2022 campaign.
