As RCB's captain since 2007, Virat Kohli has been the team's undisputed lynchpin. Several bowling attacks have been foiled by the RCB skipper, who has established himself as one of the finest willow wielders in IPL history.

Kohli's IPL saga will continue on September 20, 2021, when he leads the RCB team in a match against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

RCB captain Virat Kohli will play in his 200th IPL match, becoming him the first player from the Bangalore team to do so. In the IPL, the right-hander now holds the record for most runs scored (6076) and most hundreds scored (five in all).

However, Virat Kohli isn't the first player to appear in 200 IPL games. As of right now, MS Dhoni owns the record for most IPL games played. It's hard to believe that Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain has taken part in 212 IPL games and has 4672 runs in IPL cricket. Dinesh Karthik, Rohit Sharma, and Suresh Raina are the other three players with over 200 appearances each (201 matches).

When it is all said and done, Kohli will be the first player to play 200 IPL games for a single franchise. After the 2021 IPL, Kohli plans to step down as RCB captain.

Kohli did add, though, that he intends to play one more IPL game with the RCB team before retiring from the game. As of right now, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team sits in the third position in the points standings after winning five of its seven matches so far in the tournament.
