Following the end of the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League, India will play South Africa in a five-match T20I series (IPL). This series will be viewed from the comfort of one's own home.
This series will be played before the Indian team departs for England for a complete limited-overs tour. The series versus South Africa will begin on June 9th, 2022, and end on June 19th, 2022.
The 5 T20I games between India and South Africa will be contested in Chennai, Cuttack, Vizag, Rajkot, and Delhi. The BCCI's Apex Council also declared that the locations for the series have been confirmed, taking into account the weather conditions.
This limited-overs series between the two sides is part of the Future Tours Programme (FTP), according to an official, and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has agreed that it will be played after the IPL concludes on May 29, 2022.
“The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has already stated that the IPL will be held in Mumbai and Pune from March 26 to May 29 and just about 10 days later the Twenty20 series against South Africa will start. This is part of the FTP and this is to be played after the IPL,” said the BCCI official.
In recent seasons, the Indian team has had a fantastic run in T20Is. India has been on a red-hot winning streak in the Twenty20 International format of the game, having won their last 12 T20I matches. In their previous T20I match against Sri Lanka, Rohit Sharma and his team thrashed their opponents 3-0 at home and dominated the Sri Lankan side in the just finished T20I series between the two Asian sides.
