Oxford dictionary, one of the most published and the worlds trusted dictionary has always kept pace with the evolution of the English language adapting to the changing nature of language.

And as part of its process, Oxford adds new words to the dictionary every year. The Oxford dictionary is updated 4 times a year with new words added to the dictionary and old words getting appropriate and new meanings.

In October this year, the word Tollywood was included in the Oxford dictionary. There were 203 new words which were added to the dictionary, Tollywood being one of them.

Interestingly, Tollywood has 2 interpretations in the Oxford dictionary;

Tollywood, n.1: The Telugu-language film industry, based in Hyderabad, Telangana

Tollywood, n.2: The Bengali-language film industry, based in Tollygunge, an area of Kolkata.

Some of the other words that were added to the dictionary this year were; fake News, Jedi, Chillax, Whatevs, Nomophobic and many more.
