The Indian Railways, one of the oldest network of railways introduced something interestingly different for the first time, an initiative called the ‘Promotion on Wheels’.
For the initiative ‘Promotion on Wheels’, specials trains will be made available for the publicity and promotion of art, film, sport & other cultural programmes. IRCTC will be the main agency to handle and run these trains.
The IRCTC will take up the responsibility of the theme based vinyl wrapping of the special promotional trains which will be the main feature of this initiative.
As part of the initiative, the Indian Railways has already approached major film production houses to publicize and promote their films using special trains.
The first film to come under the initiative of Promotion on Wheels is Akshay Kumar’s upcoming comedy film Housefull 4. The makers had booked a train for the film’s special promotion by IRCTC in co-ordination with Western Railway. Akshay Kumar along with his cast members took a ride on the promotional train from Mumbai to Delhi along with a few media persons who were going to interact with the cast during their journey.
