Today Xiaomi officially launched its pocket friendly smartphone in India, the Redmi 8. The Redmi 8 is the successor to the Redmi 7 that was launched earlier this year.
The company has added minimal changes to the Redmi 8 in terms of its design. In the front it carries a Waterdrop Notch Design on a 6.22-inch HD+ display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and at the back it sports an Aura Mirror Design which will be offered in various colours like Sapphire Blue, Ruby Red and Onyx Black.
In the camera department, the Redmi 8 comes with a dual camera setup at the back. It houses a 12-megapixel main camera with an f/1.8 aperture and a Sony IMX363 as its primary sensor. The second camera is a 2-megapixel depth sensor that helps to take portraits with good depth of field. In front there is an 8-megapixel camera AI selfie camera.
The Redmi 8 is powered using an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 chipset with up-to 4GB of RAM and up-to 64GB of storage whereas the lowest variant option includes a 3GB RAM with 32GB of internal storage.
The handset also packs a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support and comes with a rear fingerprint sensor. Other features and specifications include a dedicated MicroSD card slot, dual-sim 4G VoLTE, P2i splash proof coating, an IR blaster, 3.5mm audio jack and a USB Type-C port.
Launching on the 12th of October, the Redmi 8 will be available for purchase at Rs.7,999 for the base variant which sports the 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, while the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage will be priced at 8,999.
